Fractured English

Did you receive an insanely stupid spam message? Or yet another spam message with (!!) no URL? Post it here so we can continue to laugh at mentally-challenged spammers.

Fractured English

Postby AlphaCentauri » Thu Jul 24, 2008 2:59 am

I think we could just have one thread for spams that come out funny because of translation issues.

This is the entire message for this one:

For 6 months and now my penis is immensely longer than federal.

Subject: This secret will change your sexual life instantly

spammed domain= clapclaim.com

At least in the US, "the clap" is slang for gonorrhea.

Subject: Your recipe for successful love

Intimate life doping seller. http://it.medvisiondoctor.sg

I guess someone's been watching the Olympics and somehow got the idea that "doping" was synonymous with "performance enhancing."

LOL, funny just read these. clap..

Clap is definitely American slang, not sure if THEY know that or not, hard to say.

Most likely no (not always knowledgeable of American slang), since some of the spammers put together 2 actual English words in a nonsensical fashion in a domain name. I have seen that pattern now for quite a while.

Clap is the same in UK slang.

Could also be mis-pronounced Chinese-style - cr*p !

The funny thing is, these people are using word-salad domain-name
generators, with apparently no checks:

animalhospitalinfo.sg >> ED express animal hospital for human meds ?? :D

They think that anything starting with 'med' is good for pharmacy naming, so:
medwayradio.sg :D

I'm off to bed now, but I hope to come back soon.

Have fun,
stay safe!

"Recipe" is a Latin word meaning "mix together" or something like that, and physicians abbreviate it as "Rx" when writing prescriptions. They abbreviate it so consistently that most wouldn't even be able to tell you that the original word was "recipe."

It's become synonymous with "prescription," even though pharmacists aren't mixing much together anymore. People in North America are very familiar with the abbreviation, but apparently it is unknown elsewhere. The spammer did the best he could, not knowing that the unabbreviated word "recipe" refers almost exclusively to cooking now.

Don't "misunderestimate" him ;) He's made comments about how much easier it would be to be a dictator.

about.com has a topic on political humor, and all they have to do is quote him accurately:
http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/blbushisms.htm

My favorite is this inadvertently funny screen shot from an Irish TV news program. The show had the typical captions that flash in sequence at the bottom of the screen summarizing the news story and the comments of the various people involved. This one was about Hurricane Katrina striking New Orleans:
