Problems with CANTV.NET

Postby Red Dwarf » Tue Nov 22, 2016 4:46 pm

I get loads of "Nigerian"-style fraud from free email accounts on CANTV.NET.

This is in Venezuela.

If I want to report these back to the support desk at cantv.net, I discover a big problem.

They advertise a phone number, and an email address for this purpose:

0800-CANTV-00 which is 0-800-CANTV-00 (0-800-2268800) or +1 800 2268800
If I call that number, I am given a Q&A designed to sell me a free Caribbean cruise from Florida, fillowed by "End of call" and hang-up.

The web site has a "Contact Us" page. But when you fill in a message, it gives

Cantv> Contact

Contact Us
Note: To manage your requirements, please note your phone number and / or identity card

Failed to connect to the mail server. Try again later.

The email address I found was soporte@cantv.net
(Translated, excerpt)
If this is not possible, or if you are a
Cantv.net user, you can contact our Support Center through the following means:

        E-mail: soporte@cantv.net
        Phone: 0500-SUPPORT

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<teofila123@gmail.com>
(reason: 552-5.2.2 The email account that you tried to reach is over quota. Please direct)

0500-SUPPORT is +585007877678 which is not available - outside business hours - at 4:55 PM Tuesday, 22 November 2016
or else, the same survey. No matter whether you choose to accept or reject the cruise offer, it hangs up on you.

Does anyone else have any different experience?

419scam.org has a page citing the cantv.net problem at http://www.419scam.org/419-cantv-net.htm

They also provide email addresses for reporting to cantv.net
http://abuse.net/lookup.phtml?domain=cantv.net

Look up an address in the abuse.net contact database
abuse@cantv.net (for cantv.net)
ipadmin@cantv.net (for cantv.net)
soporte@cantv.net (for cantv.net)
